LIL CHOMPAS SUPER SPECIAL AWESOME APPLE PIE RECIPE

Ingredients:

Double Crust:
- 2 Cups Sifted All Purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 2/3 Cup Shortening
- 7-10 Tablespoons Cold water

Single Crust:
- 1 ½ Cups Sifted All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 Cup Shortening
- 5 Tablespoons Cold water

Filling:
- 5 Large Ambrosia Apples
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons All Purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- Dash Nutmeg
- Dash Salt
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- (Optional: 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract)

Recipe:

PART 1 - Crust:
-Preheat oven to 400F
- Sift together flour and salt into a large bowl.
- Cut in Shortening with a Fork until Shortening forms pea sized clumps.
- Gently mix water into bowl a little at a time as needed, mixing with hands until you can form a flaky ball with your hands.
-Split the ball into two equal sized pieces and roll out one at a time on a floured surface into 9 inch circles. You want to flour the work surface, your hands, and the roller it self, if the dough begins to stick to any surface you need more flour. Set aside one of the halves for the topping.
-Fold the flattened dough half and align with the middle of your pie dish, roll out over the edges and remove any excess.
-Set aside to work on Filling.

PART 2 - Filling:
- Peel Apples and Slice into thin slices
- Combine with Dry ingredients (Mix Well)
- Pour into Pie dish
- Break up butter and spread on top.
- Water your fingers and dab the edges of the pie crust
- Fold the second half of your pie crust over the Dish and crimp the edges, removing excess crust.
- Add vent slits on top with knife or fork
- Place in Preheated oven for 50 Minutes
- Remove, let cool, and enjoy!
